Quick thing I read in this month’s Real Simple (when you sit down and nurse five times a day you get lots of reading done). Peppermint tea helps with headaches. Especially those headaches that are combined with upset stomach.
According to the director of the Manhattan Center for Headache and Neurology, Audrey L. Halpern “peppermint may reduce spasms in the gastrointestinal tract.” When the spasms are reduced, so are the headache symptoms. Also, “neurochemical changes in the brain brought on by headaches can also affect the part of the brain that stimulates nausea.”
What is good for nausea? Peppermint!
Make a peppermint tea by placing one drop of peppermint essential oil in boiling water.
